Odgers Connect Hosts Transformational Leadership Event
Odgers Connect was recently joined by Chris Roebuck, Visiting Professor at Cass Business School, London, for an evening of discussion and lively debate on Transformational Leadership. Chris shared valuable insights from his international, multi-sector career on where the pain points in organizations often lie, and some simple, low time commitment and zero investment initiatives that can make a world of difference to transforming an organisation.
The conversation highlighted the crucial role of the senior and middle management layer of organisations. Managers are usually those relied upon to deliver a true transformation. Without empowering and engaging line management, executives risk piloting initiative after initiative that fails when rolled out to the entirety of the organisation. The distinction between manager and leadership was debated, as well as the basic toolset managers need to enable them to lead a transformation.
The event was attended by members of the Odgers Connect Consultant network, a group of top-tier independent consultants who have exited firms like McKinsey, BCG and Bain and the “Big 4” advisory arms, to take ownership over their advisory and consultancy work - a group often engaged to shape and implement transformation programmes by executive teams.
