Odgers Connect Charity Evening

On a Monday evening in November, Odgers Connect hosted a drinks reception for Consultants in our network to meet, mingle and enjoy a drink and some food all in aid of Alzheimer’s UK which is the chosen charity partner for the Odgers Group in the UK.  Vicky Lake, Corporate Partnerships Manager at ARUK was on hand to share a presentation about the need to increase funding and research as well as demonstrate new virtual reality tools and games aimed at increasing awareness of Alzheimer’s.

Announcing the partnership earlier this year, David Mayhew the Chairman of ARUK said ‘No one survives dementia, yet. It’s now the leading cause of death for women in the UK and the second biggest killer of men. One in three children born this year will develop the condition during their lifetimes – unless we act now. Through research, we can defeat dementia, so Odgers Berndtson’s support over the next two years will be absolutely vital’.

Aside from raising awareness for an important cause the evening was a resounding success with an oversubscribed guest list and many Consultants catching up with old contacts and colleagues as well as meeting new people to share experiences as life as an independent consultant.
